This blog post will be about my morning routine! About what I do in the morning to set myself up for the day. Due to illness, I don’t work now but still, I find it worthwhile to have a good morning to myself to set up my day.
A typical morning:
It starts with waking up usually my alarm goes off at around 8.30 pm. I have a second alarm for 8.45 pm so I typically wake up in between these two times. I then brush my teeth, wash my face & then have a shower.
I then go downstairs and make myself breakfast and then have it. This could be perhaps a strawberry jam or Nutella sandwich and then I bring my tablet downstairs to a specific table where I usually have my quiet times every morning with Jesus. This is usually a 45-minute session where I read the bible (most often according to a bible in a year plan) and pray (often using the bible as a tool for prayer).
After reading the bible I often read a chapter of the bible in one of my target languages so that I can practice said language.
On days that I go to the gym (3-4 times a week), I usually get ready to go to the gym just before 11 am to head out the door for then. This I find very useful to keep up a good mood and a healthy body/mind.
When I don’t go to the gym, afterwards I usually go for a morning walk where I listen to either podcasts, audiobooks or music to get more steps in (I usually have a daily step goal).
When I don’t go to the gym the 11 am-12 noon slot is often a language learning session where I learn my target language for 1 hour. Currently, my target language is Hakka Chinese.
